Dog's Life
“It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright”
That’s right folks, its The Beatles song. I love dogs! they bring a special joy to my heart which no human can quite replicate. Why do people love dogs so much and why are they a man’s best friend? I bet because they love you no matter what. It does not matter whether you are rich or poor, ugly or beautiful, sane or insane – they just love you for who you are. I wonder why it is difficult for humans to love someone the same way. I believe the answer is “ego”. You see dogs don’t have an ego and that’s why they love everyone so much, except for cats that is.
When someone says “I’ve been working like a dog” I really wonder what does that mean.
I haven’t seen a dog really work hard. Has anyone seen that?
Dog’s that I known of usually sleep where they want to , eat when they want to , bark (yell) at people whenever they feel like it and lick someone when they want to in short they have more freedom to do things then we do.
For example I can’t sleep where I want to, I can’t eat what I want (have to watch my diet), Can’t yell at my Boss or people I don’t like and certainly can’t lick someone all though there are times when I have wished I could. So I guess if we really think about it, A Dog’s life is great.
A dog’s world is pretty much a world like ours. They are territorial just like us - They have friends and plenty of mates (something most of us can’t say for ourselves). We have our pet dogs that get free food and shelter, then we have our goon dogs that run the streets they live in, the question is whose world is better. I have even heard of dogs that sleep on silk mattress, much better than the crummy old bed I sleep in.
Have you heard people saying it’s a “dog-eat-dog” world! Do dogs eat other dogs (equivalent to cannibalism in human context?). I don’t think dog really eat their kind, makes me wonder who came up with that phrase.
Sometimes when I had a stressful day at work or some problem I like looking at dogs, they are always happy and sleeping. They have very simple pleasures in life such as chasing after cats, chewing shoes, sniffing disgusting things and run after other dogs. They have no problems like mortgage payment, car loan, credit cad bills, taxes, and politics. They don’t even have to take a bath – Nobody judges them, even if they do they don’t care. Their prized possession is a piece of bone – How is that for wealth?
So here is everyday guy’s question to ponder on – Do you really think a dog’s life is hell? So the next time you see a dog remember this - he is not the one with a leash around his neck, It is us and the best part is we don’t even realize it until the day it starts choking us.
So the next time you see a dog smiling, you know exactly what he is thinking

V- Day or D-Day ?
So are you geared up for Valentine’s Day?
Yup folks! It’s that time of the year where everyone is so much under pressure, think of it like tax season for people in love.
What is about Valentine’s Day that makes it so taxing, I guess it means a lot of different things to different people but I guess most of them feel "stuck"
Imagine this, you are walking down the street and you bump in to someone you know, you hope they dont see you but god is always not that merciful, so you do what any normal person would do you say Hello! You start chatting up about things and suddenly they ask you
“So what are you doing for valentines day?”
And you freeze for a second and in that second your mind is trying to come up with something interesting to tell but you know that there’s a chance that you may not be able to convince the other person, You see in todays world you cannot afford to say "I dont give a crap about valentine's day" you have to be politicaly correct,so you decide to play it safe and say
“Probably Dinner at a fancy restaurant.”
Now if you think that was annoying imagine this, you bump into the person next week, what do you think they are going to ask you?
“So how was valentines day?”
You probably will have to recollect what you said to them in the first place. (Good Luck!)
Here is something you probably didn’t know
In ancient Rome, 13, 14 and 15 February were celebrated as Lupercalia, a pagan fertility festival. This seems to be the basis for a celebration of love on this date. It was marked in a subtly different way in those days, young men would strip naked and use goat- or dog-skin whips to spank the backsides of young women in order to improve their fertility; an early IVF, if you will. Now that’s the kind of party scene some wont mind checking out.
Valentines Day is also about gifts. The ever popular saying ‘better to give than receive’ all though no body really believes that but everyone knows you are supposed to get a gift for you significant other, (by the way have you got one?) People all over the world are overwhelmed with choices today from Roses to Rawcut Diamonds as gift ideas. People feel the pressure to buy the best cuz every year the expectations keep raising and as if that’s not enough you have every business in town trying to make extra buck by having all the special offers. Funny why on a ‘world peace day’ or an ‘aids awareness day’ I don’t seem to see any special offers ----- I guess valenties day is a much more important day than world peace or world aids day. remember guys the word is to spread love , dont remind people how sad their life could be.
Do you know that Valentines Day generates close to $14 billion dollars across US in retail sales and here we are talking how broke the economy is and how we are struggling to make ends meet.
Have you heard the “philosophy” by the smart ass single people? If you have not then grace yourself here it is “why celebrate valentines day just one day in a year? If you love someone you should celebrate it every day of the year” My guess is that it’s because of philosophy like that they are single. Everyone who has ever been in a relationship knows that if you try love someone 365 days you probably will end breaking up. Love is complicated folks, its not as easy as loving someone everyday. Sometimes you need a break and sometimes you need a day to tell them “I love you” so might well as make it February 14th.
So is it V-day or D-day for you? Here is everyday guy’s thought for the day “Have a happy valentines day! And get ready to bust some serious cash"

Alone for the rest of my life
Have you ever asked this question in your life “Am I going to be alone for the rest of my Life?”
If the answer is yes, then you are probably one of the millions who inhabit this mortal world along with few other fortunate one who never had the need to ask such questions.
Let’s try and understand what being alone really means, I looked up Webster’s dictionary and this is what I found
Date: 13th century
1 separated from others: isolated
2 exclusive of anyone or anything else: only
3 considered without reference to any other
4 incomparable, unique
Surprised to find the word originated in the 13th century, Guess folks had this problem for centuries; guess one can find a little comfort in the fact that after all they are not really all “alone”. Let’s go through the list of synonyms that Webster is trying to teach us
Separated from others : Isolated – Unless you are Tom Hanks in the movie Cast Away I guess its safe for me to assume for most people its not the case.
Exclusive of anyone or anything else: Only – Lets face it if we are “exclusive” we really won’t be asking this question in the first place
Considered without reference to any other – Everyone is considered for something or reference to something for example “Don’t ever end up like that fellow”
Incomparable, unique – Everyone of us like to think we are unique but trust me we are not, if we are really unique among the billions we would be either Rich or Famous or Dead and in all such scenarios we would have never been alone
So if we go by the literary sense of the word “Alone” I guess we really are not alone but yet we still feel alone in life and are petrified beyond our worst nightmare about ending up here. If we have to get rid of this feeling we need to truly understand what we mean when we say we are “alone” I guess the common sense answer would be we don’t have someone special in our life.
If we really think about that we do have people in our life, its just that they are not special enough, so here is a everyday guy’s thought for the day “Its easier to take someone that you have in your life and make them special than trying to find someone new and hope they would turn out to be special” .
So stop for a moment and make a list of people you know in your life and see who can be made special and you would be surprised that the “someone” who you were looking for has been there all along.

Traffic in Chennai
“Traffic” this is probably the second scariest thing right next to “Terrorism”.
While governments are busy planning strategic initiatives to counter terrorism, ‘everyday guys’ like me plan how to counter Traffic.
Here are few counter ideas that could work
1. Drive a bike instead of a car
2. Take the office cab
3. Carpool
4. Relocate
5. Call in sick
6. Work from home
While the list can be endless with options varying from whacky to intelligent, the question I really want to ask is – Does any of them work for you?
My professor in college used to say at the end of the day its you against the whole world and I did not realize what that meant but now I kind of feel what he was talking about, the man had to travel 2 hours everyday to get to work and trust me guys that is no easy job when you experience the traffic in Chennai.
For most people who don’t know about Chennai, it a beautiful city in the state of Tamil Nadu situated in the southern part of India, If you still feel this place is Timbuktu - I would suggest you to Google it. It’s like any other busy city in the world where people have two things to live for 1. Work / earn money and spend it before the weekend, 2. Mega serials (that’s day time soap)
Now I’m not exactly a spokesperson for Chennai, it’s simple to big of a place to describe in a simple blog but as a everyday guy who travels to work almost 45 mins, I do have some interesting words to share. Driving in Chennai for most people would be the worst part of their day but I don’t want to talk about the pain involved in it rather I want to talk about the fun side of it and that’s what this blog is all about – Finding FUN in everyday’s misery.
Ask any foreigner who visited Chennai for the first time, they would have a wonderful story about the traffic out here, some of the things you hear will not be accepted by your brain but you got to see it to believe it. In fact there is rumor that government is trying to advertise “driving in Chennai” as an extreme sport activity and attract international investment. They have already started digging holes in the road, raising big pillars and constructing bridges.
The good thing is that unlike motocross where only one can drive, you can do this a group activity, you can get your friends, family, neighbors just about anyone you can find, what is cool about this sport is that there are no rules and what I mean by that is there are rules but you don’t have to follow them.
Some of the rules that you don’t have to follow are
• Stopping at traffic signals
• More than 2 people not allowed on the bike
• Wearing helmets and other protective gear
• Maintain lane discipline
• Be courteous to other riders
What attracts most people to this sport is the feeling that you get “King of the Road”. Imagine a 4D version of the most popular game NFS, the only difference is that you get caught you don’t have to restart the game you just lose some points of your pocket! So if there are people out there who are bored of all the bungee jumps, monster rides and other extreme sport, here is a new sport on the horizon.
Have you ever got stuck in traffic? I guess that’s a stupid question to ask, if you are someone who drives to work chances are that you experienced it today. What do you think is the worst part of being stuck in traffic?
• The inability to do something interesting while you are stuck
• The inability to just ram the guy who is trying to cut in
• The annoying guy behind you
I guess for most people it reminds them of their life. Life is too busy these days, people don’t have time to work, sleep or eat properly and sure as hell don’t have time to think about their life. I guess when you are stuck in traffic and pretty much cant go anywhere or get anything done you start to think about your life and can’t help but notice that your in a similar situation and I believe that’s what really frustrates them.
So the next time your are stuck in traffic ask yourself are you frustrated because your stuck in traffic or because you realized that you are stuck in life? And the truth shall set you free!

First try @ bloging
So here I was sitting at work and wondering how boring this day has been and checking my phone contacts to see if there is another soul on earth i could trouble. So I decided to call someone however the question was what do i talk about, which brings me back to where i started. Then i muster up and call someone- a friend of mine . We were talking and she mentioned that she was bored too and was thinking of blogging. the minute she mentioned it a bolt of thought hit my head and i said to myself "why can't i do that". Sure i have a lot of useless thoughts in my head and what better way to get back at life by bitching about it.
So ladies and gentlemen here iam, a simple "everyday guy" has taken the first step towards the next generation of "Time killing" and in the process have become one among the gazillion bolggers who have perfected this art.
So what do i blog about - simple EVERYDAY LIFE , which includes work, play, relationship, dieting, working out, partying - you name it its all in there. So if you are a everyday person try and check out this blog and share your thoughts
